Today, my maths teacher was giving my whole class a lecture on 'if you don't pay attention at school, you will fail.' She then pointed out out a man working on the roof and said: 'if you don't listen, you will end up like that guy.' That was my dad. FML

Don't be ashamed of your dad over something that stupid bitch said in class. Who gives a shit how much he makes an hour or how much she makes an hour? She made her career choice and he made his. She doesn't have the right to criticize someone based on what they do for a living. I would talk to someone about it....make sure that they write that bitch up.

My dad (who was kicked out of high school in grade 11 and never went back) made $30k last may and bought 2 trucks with it...and he owns a roofing company. He has told us about MANY jobs about how he's made $8k or $10k in just a few days. Roofing is by no means a low job. I know my dad has been a roofer for the last 20 years and has never had a problem with money, has always owned at least 5 or 6 vehicles (at one point, he owned over 13 ALL paid for and in his name). Yeah, so ther is nothing wrong with being a roofer. I think it might actually be one of the quickest, legal ways of making money, as long as you don't mind some hard work. Teachers sometimes make a nice chunk of change, but they often don't and this woman certainly shouldn't be putting down your dad just because he may not have spent 4+ years in college with a degree. That's bullshit.

sorry OP your teacher is a bitch! the work your dad dose will get him much further in life then your teachers profession, roofers make some serious BANK! their job helps keep them in shape. I hope your proud of your dad, because he's making an honest living. **** your teacher for thinking she's better then people like your dad.

I'd tell her that it's my dad and be like he could pay your salary in a month or two... he has more social significance than he does.. without roofers people would have leaky disgusting houses. without teachers people can lean more from watching tv... I've actually learned more in a weekend of television than I have from a full week of school before....
