Today, my parents woke me up at 4 am and informed me of their impending divorce. They then woke me up again three hours later and told me "never mind". This same routine happens several times a month. FML

Yeah..having your parents walk in on random nights telling you their getting a divorce but then not getting one seems to me that it would be more traumitizing than an actual divorce. These parents need to get some counseling or else it's gonna be like the boy who cried wolf. OP's not gonna beleive their parents and he/she is gonna wake up one morning with one of them gone.

They really should. This isn't healthy for them or their kids. It sucks that they're sooooo wrapped up in their own shit that they don't even realize how bad this impacting their child (children?). Most kids don't want their parents to divorce, but the OP is probably thinking "OMFG JUST GET A GOD DAMN DIVORCE ALREADY AND LET ME ******* SLEEP. HOLY SHIT WTFBBQ". :/ FYL op. Did you ever tell them to just do it and get it over with so they don't have to bug you about it? Mine ate divorced, it isn't as bad as it sounds.

My parents got divorced, and for a while my dad and his new gf lived in the basement of my moms house. Slightly whiskey tango. It was odd.

like illmatic2 said, I was not living with my parents, but when I did visit them (we live in different countries), my mom just said "Oh, we got a divorce last year, forgot to tell you"
