well not to sound nerdy but I just learned about this recently that female rats can reproduce asexually, or without a partner. It's not uncommon for this to happen. It's not a ***** or anything else anyone else said

Rats do not reproduce asexually.

It is so uncommon it is impossible. Rats only reproduce sexually. If the rat had been the OP's pet for less than 22 days, it's possible he bought it pregnant. If not... the rat must have gotten loose sometime in the last 22 days to get a little action. ... trust me, I'm a geneticist. :)
