I don't see why you're getting so many YDIs. I don't usually answer people's calls, period. I just hate talking on the phone and I even get anxiety about ordering food. I would have thought if they really need me they would text me or leave a voicemail...you don't deserve it. She should have at least left a voicemail or texted you if you were her last option

I see so much judgement on here.. so many people seem to be taking this at face value and assuming that OP is right about the character of their roommate and that means the roommate is a bad person so they deserve this to happen to them. I've been in the position of wondering if a percent is going to die and no one deserves that, even if they're a bad person.. it wouldn't hurt just to have compassion for people, and come on, who thinks rationally when they're panicked and freaking out? OP's roommate can't expected to think logically because generally, people don't.. not when they're terrified that people they love are going to die
