Today, my roommate thought it would be a good idea to show me his huge new tarantula despite knowing that I have extremely severe arachnophobia. I ended up killing it with a book and apparently now owe him $500. FML

It's your roommate's fault. If he knew about your fear, he should've known that would happen.

Ydi op. It's sad that you were warned first and still had a stupid reaction. Yes you do owe him money you killed his freaking pet.

Depends on the species how much it costs, or a rare color. And unless you have an allergy to insect venom, the worst thing they do is flick irritating hairs at you, which can bother skin or eyes. I'd make you pay for my dead pet. Also, I live with a lagomorphobic roommate and moved in with a rabbit. He was scared of it but did not kill my pet. He even used her to conquer the fear.

He di , why Is it out of the cage ? And he knew you had a phobia and decided to show you anyway .

who would even spend that much money to buy such an ugly an terrifying creature? Why couldn't he just buy a rat or something? No, rather something with 8 legs D:

You suck, OP. Better pay up, there's no way you can blame your roommate on your idiotic actions.

None of you have arachnophobia. There's a difference between having an unexplained fear and being a pussy.

Your first reaction is to grab a book and kill it? YDI. If it was in your roommate's hand and wasn't attacking you, you shouldn't have killed it. I hate spiders too, but I wouldn't have killed it. :/
