Today, my sister backed out of my wedding because it was becoming too much about me. After I begged her to reconsider, I had no choice but to pick a new bridesmaid. When my new bridesmaid posted on Facebook how excited she was, my sister commented, "See, you made HER feel special." FML

Today, I told my sister I felt like her friends didn't like me, since they were ignoring my questions, opinions, etc., in the bridesmaids' chat, but were all over each other's messages. She kicked me from her bridal party, saying her friends wouldn't want me at the bridal shower and bachelorette party. FML

Today, my mother thought it would be a wonderful idea to make me late for me own wedding. It wouldn't be so bad if she hadn't focused solely on my sister because my wedding didn't center on her. Today, I’m supposed to be a bridesmaid at my sister's wedding, but she doesn’t want me in the photos because I’m over a foot taller than her and the other bridesmaids, and it will look silly in the photos. I told her I won’t even bother attending, and mom actually took her side. FML

I was going to say something similar. OP, your wedding IS about you, but you know that :) With your sister up there as a bridesmaid with you, I have a feeling it quickly would have become about HER, and that would definitely cause a rift in the family if your special day was ruined by a hissy fit. You might still have to rally your bridesmaids together and be on the defensive. She may try to make it about her anyway, using "you ditched me as your bridesmaid? I'm your SISTER" to cause a scene. I wish you and your soon-to-be-husband all the happiness in the world, and I sincerely hope your day goes off without a hitch!

How is it that these people exist? I mean really! I fear for human kind. How can they think that it's ok to try to make things like this all about them. You've got the sister who try's to make her sister's wedding day all about her, then the sister who try's to make her brother-in-law's funeral all about her, and the one who makes her sister's pregnancy all about her because she's thinking about having a baby too. Seriously, where do these people get off and how do they even exist to begin with? I'm suddenly glad I don't have a sister.
