Today, my teacher was talking about anorexia and bulimia. Midway through the lesson, she stopped and knowingly asked if I wanted to share my experiences with the class. I don't have an eating disorder, just a screwed-up metabolism. FML

Even though you don't have a disorder, that's horribly wrong of her to call you out on it in front of the whole class.

You're teacher is ignorant.. Wow. sorry OP !

What was she thinking? What if she called on someone who DID have a disorder? That'd be even worse!

Yeah, what the hell kind of response did she honestly think she'd get? "Oh, sure. I'll just tell you all about my deepest fears and worries and how I obsess over my weight and what a struggle it is for me just to get through each day. No big deal, glad you asked." Plus, that has to be against some kind of rule. There's no way anyone would consider that remotely appropriate. She was way out of line.

That's really wrong to say, even if you did have a disorder. The only time it'd be okay would be if you were asked before if you were comfortable talking about it, hypothetically.

That's so not right, why would she call you out like that? I hope that you either talked to her after class, and/or told the principal.

Wow. If you really did have an eating disorder, that would have been terrible for her to put you on the spot like that (well, it was terrible of her anyway) Like people who really do struggle with things like this want to share their experiences with everyone.

Well...your teacher's an asshole I can tell you that.

OP, do you have Crowther as your teacher?

I hope you told her off and made her feel like an ass.

Whoa. Even if you did have an eating disorder, that's a really stupid and rude thing to do to call you out like that in front of the whole class. What business is it of hers anyway? Sorry she put you through that OP.

You should report her. That kind of behavior is way out of line.
