Today, my young son and I were in line at Subway. I guess he got bored and started to insult the teenage girl behind us. I tried to get him to stop, but he wouldn't listen. Eventually the girl punched him in the face and left. As my son cried uncontrollably, everyone else there clapped. FML

Not only would I have clapped too, I would've burst out laughing. Your son had it coming.

See this as a fail on your part and improve your parenting skills. It probably should've been you that got punched in the face.

I wouldn't say that you deserved it, but your son definitely did.

Words can not explain how embarrassed I would be if my child ever did something like that!

"I GUESS he got bored...I TRIED to get him to stop but he wouldn't listen..." It's already been said, but christ, OP, who is the parent here? Go and discipline your child, you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing your son to get away with being such a little brat. If that was my kid I would be mortified... That girl had the right idea, you're raising a bully.

Wow man the **** up and go boot camp on your sons ass

I think the need for that went after a girl beat him up

I love all of you judging her when you likely do not have children yourselves. She probably tried everything short of hitting him and making him leave with her. Some kids deserve a smack, but if a parent does that they get judged for that too. You cannot win as a parent these days - you use stern words and the kid sill misbehaves, you're a bad mom; if you use a good thwack on the ass to get their attention, you're a bad mom. How about you all get off your high horses and try to walk in her shoes? With FML's character limit, we never can know the full story.

I have to disagree Zehla. Even her wording "I guess he got bored". Firstly she doesn't even pay enough attention to her kid to keep him occupied, and secondly, who the hell randomly starts to insult people when they are bored? Parenting fail!

NO. Just NO. She should have left the store if she could not control him. While it is true that parents nowadays, regrettably, get in trouble for spanking their kids, she definitely would not get in any trouble for leaving the store to spare other patrons the trouble.

How is this an FML? Your kid got a chance to learn how to behave and you didn't even have to beat him in public and make yourself look bad.
