I sympathize, OP, fyl. I used to live in the north end of Winnipeg (not an evil area, but also not a nice place), and I had my vehicle broken into about a dozen times for the 2 years I lived there. The first time the truck was locked and they destroyed the lock and door handle getting in, and all they took was the 98 cents I had in the change dish. :p After that, I left it unlocked and never lost more than the few dimes I left in there. Never lost my tools or Cd's, or booster cables, nothing. They'd take the change and leave like happy campers. They'd even close my door when they left, considerate thieves! :D Lesson learned: Leave it unlocked, don't carry anything of value. No problems. :)
