That's actually kinda cool if you think about it
Not so cool when it's 2 in the morning and your parrot won't stop making car alarm sounds
To be fair, at 2 in the morning a bird should be asleep in their covered cage. :P I have an african grey who learned how to make the smoke alarm noise at one point. Not a good time! But at least he got bored with it pretty quickly.
I wish I could say that about mine.
Oh gosh. How would you even begin to stop that?
Start playing cop car sounds near him and put him out side when the car alarm goes off
FYL you have a parrot
FYL for not having a parrot #20
I don't have a parrot, but I still think they are awesome!
My African grey does the smoke alarm. A lot. They seem to love annoying sounds don't they? The joys of living with a bird....
Holy shit I commented a few seconds ago about my grey...learning the smoke alarm. Are you me? Am I you? Maybe we're two halves of the same exasperated pet owner.
They exceed all your expectations at picking up sounds and phrases you don't want them to, and are even better at ignoring words that you spend months trying to teach them.
38--Haha it is uniquely exasperating to have a grey! Mikko's latest thing has been to answer "woof" to everything you say to him. "Do you want an almond?" "Woof"/"step up" "woof" and so on. And don't even get me started on him mimicking the screaming of the other 7 (and then yelling at them!!). 44--Mikko has heard "I love you" every day of his life and has never said it (and I'm fairly certain he knows it but is just being stubborn). "Boink!" He learned after hearing it 3 times. "How are you?" "I'm good, how are you?" he mastered in a matter of days. And now every morning when he sees you its "good morning! How are you?" And if you don't respond Mikko repeats himself until he gives up and answers himself. Mikko's compliment to people is "you're a good butt" (because he calls himself a grey butt). And those moments make all the annoying alarm sounds worth it!
