Today, I was sitting in the restaurant waiting for my blind date to come. I had sat for an hour until I finally got fed up and went to leave when at the same time the guy at the table next to me stood up to leave too. I noticed he had been sitting alone. Turns out he was my date. FML

You know, just because he is eating with a girl, doesn't mean he is on a date. It could have been family. He may not have even noticed you. You should talk to him before assuming.

Well, that really sucks, but I'm thinking that this kind of thing is why back in the day they had 'dating' and they had 'going steady' or 'exclusive'. Today people just kind of do what they want without really defining anything except marriage (and not always then) and no one knows what's going on in the dating scene. I think we should bring back propriety and definition of relationships. It'll never happen, but that's what I think. Sorry you're feeling bad though. At least you found out early that he was a douchebag. Trust me, it's better this way.

I disagree with the posters in here that are saying he may have been with family or a co-worker. If that was the case why didn't he say hello? Sorry to say OP, but I think you're right and you're single again. I am sure you are a "Genteel", Refined Southern Lady. I hope you finished eating, gracefully got up from your table, took your dinner check and placed it on his table as you slowly walked past.
