Today, the passport office informed me I won't get my passport in time to go on holidays. However, they took the money for the passport out of my account 2 months ago, causing me to go overdrawn, and not pay my travel insurance. The same insurance I needed to get the cost of the holiday back. FML

you clearly can't afford a vacation if your account went overdrawn before you even got all your affairs handled. ydi for living outside of your means

well if you planned it right you would have had money for both. ydi

so typical that they have no problems taking your money right away, but the service you're paying for is magically delayed

you can actually sue them for the loss of the holiday under Irish law.

That passport office dispute is retarded, as are the people that work there. The headline in an Irish paper yesterday was basically along the lines of "passport office bosses refuse to pay workers who wont do their jobs, unions get pissed off at this". (Irish Independent if you're wondering) I hate the Irish trade unions, bunch of thugs. Why should anyone expect money if they're not doing work? Strikes are different, this isn't a strike. I feel your pain Clauric.

in canada i know you can get an emergency rush passport done in about 24 hours

the strike in the passport office is going to cause massive problems over the next few months. once they even stop this ridiculous g0-slow it will take months to catch up on all the backdated passports. you could if you are able, go into the passport office itself and que and see if you can get it that way. it might take a few days, but it could be possible. also to all those saying this guy deserves it because of a lack in financial responsibility, the passport office isnt meant to process the payment until the document is actually made. therefore he wouldnt have needed the insurance to claim back the cost of the holiday.

uhh sounds like you couldn't afford the vacation to begin with dear

you're right-they should have been watching your account's more closely. Perhaps they should have stopped by and cleaned your house also. dumbass
