There ought to be a "your brother didn't deserve this" button.
Sorry op hope you guys get her fixed without to much damage
WOW! JUST WOW!! THAT MAKES ME FEEL SICK FOR YOU!!!
Use the old hose drain trick...and hope you get most of it out...but still you might have to get the engine serviced...
Ur an idiot no gasser that know of sounds anything like a diesel i hope u drained the fuel tank BEFORE u started it up again
Wow! That's gonna be expensive! It should have a sticker on or near the gas cap that says diesel fuel only!
Every vehicle I that have seen, driven, owned or have worked on states what type of fuel goes in it on the fuel door and/or gas cap. You just need to pay some attention to it when you go to put fuel in.
Some do some don't. Some have green caps and some are black. mine is black like a gasser but it takes diesel
I have seen class 8 truck engines melt because of that. You gotta watch it with diesel because of not only that but most stations have two types one is illegal to use on the road because it does not have road tax and it has a coloring in it.
How did they melt when diesel burns hotter then gas and gas won't ignite from compression alone due to insufficient cetane rating? I've seen holes in side of blocks, heads blown off, rods in 3 pieces and split pistons but never a melted engine
atleast you learnt something new
I've driven diesels all my life and made the same mistake on my way to work at 3am. A good system flush without running it too far and you oughta be alright. May have to replace filters and possibly a pump, but unless you ran it far, you should be ok. If you get the tank drained before you drive far you may not have any problems at all as diesel is heavier than gas. So save for an empty tank or a lot of slosh you can go a short distance with very low gasoline uptake at all.
