Today, two children decided it would be fun to try to ding-dong-ditch me. I never answered the door as I saw them running away. They did it a couple of times before getting bored. That's when they decided it would be fun to come into my house instead. FML

I'm all for guns, but there are a few countries that outlawed guns. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Australia do that? I'm not 100% sure. But in Texas you shoot a warning shot if your low on ammo you yell. Then if they don't run off you shoot them. But don't kill them, just a flesh wound.

In both Michigan and Colorado (I've lived in one, currently in the other) if you shoot someone it better kill them. If it doesn't, you'll be paying out a shit load of money for medical bills and lawsuits.

damn 57 that sounds so morbid. "Kill a trespassing human to get out of medical bills!" Why not just call the cops

I just said this before, but I live in Canada which basically you can't have a gun unless you have a hunting license, and I find it insane that you can just pull out a gun on someone as long as you're on your property! The thought that I can warn someone to get off my property and if they don't, just shoot them, seems like something from some apocalyptic novel to me. Maybe I'm the only one, but it seems a little crazy. If people trespass here we don't have a gun to get them off and yet at the end of the day it all gets resolved.

Second amendment baby, right to bear arms. The government here in the US can't take it away. Especially if they try to take it from Texas. Just about everyone I know carries a gun or owns a gun for protection reasons.

You do realize that the government made those amendments, right? They can very easily remove this 'right', which I believe should be more of a privilege than a right, but that's just me.

No actually the government can't touch it. It's in the bill of rights there would be national outrage. Once you remove one of those, it sets a precedent.

#69, the government could technically remove them, but if they did, there would be many fatalities and avoidable deaths. Possibly states leaving. Depends how severe things get.

#69 If the government got rid of the 2nd amendment it wouldn't be too difficult for them to decide to get rid of the First, or any of the others. They can't just cherry-pick amendments to get rid of or change, it'd be disastrous. My first point sounds like a stretch, but it really isn't.

Here's a fun thing to think about. America has had guns for a long long time. If you passed a law saying "no more guns." And by some form of magic people agreed. The only people who would hand in their guns would be law abiding citizens, criminals would never turn a tool for getting their way in. Here's another fun little thing to think about. Who would a mugger go after? A body builder or an average joe?

I bet you scared the shit out of them. Haha that'll teach them.

I only lock the doors when im going to bed or leaving, who keeps the door locked 24/7?

Everyone else. Just like you can't imagine keeping the door locked 24/7, I can't imagine NOT having it locked 24/7!

Sorry, YDI! You do not lock your doors? Today NO TOWN is "safe" anymore

Me. I think most people do. My sister used to leave her door unlocked when she was home, until a strange young man just walked right into her home. Fortunately he didn't mean her any harm, and it was just a mistake, and he apologized and left right away, but it made her realize how reckless she was being just leaving her door unlocked while she was home. If a guy can walk in by mistake, you bet someone with deliberate bad intentions can too.

Show'em who's boss, get a water gun and fill with a concoction of hot sauce!

Yes!! ^ Love this idea! Aim for their eyes OP, aim for their eyes.
