Today, while driving home from work, I noticed the driver next to me was happily chatting on her phone. I fucking despise these would-be murderers, so I slammed my horn to signal my disgust. She panicked and swerved straight into my car. FML

Couple of things... OP is from UK, as others have stated, unless a device is hands free it is against the law to use it whilst driving. You must pull to a safe place and stop to make/take a call or you are breaking the law. With regard to horn use, from UK highway code - The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively. You MUST NOT use your horn while stationary on the road when driving in a built-up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am except when another road user poses a danger. Note the last line. Based on laws in the UK, which are quite clear that using a phone whilst driving is dangerous, that appears to be an acceptable exception.

That is exactly why you shouldn't honk at people unless it is absolutely neccesary. I hate people who phone while driving as much as you do, but you could have known that the situation might become even more dangerous if you do something that frightens her.

What happens if something occurs which is not an everyday driving occurance if something such as an something which often happens on the roads (someone sounds a horn whilst driving, not necessarily at her but nearby) shocks her to the point of crashing into someone? Essentially she was a danger to other drivers which has been amply proven.

307 ur missing the point that what ur talking about would have been necessary honks for emergencies. his was not therefore he caused a distraction to not only the cell phone user but everyone else in ear shot. where as she could have only caused one accident he could have caused many more

In the UK it is illegal and it has been proven that there is a fourfold more chance of having an accident when using a mobile. So yes they are loser.

If you do it in the UK then yes you are a "******* moron". In fact considering the evidence to the contrary anyone who drives using a cell and claims they are safe (the same mentality as the I'm ok to drive after a few drinks even if others aren't) is a "******* moron".

If she was following the laws and safety regulations then I have absolutely no problem with it. It's because of assholeslike you that they are trying to ban this. What if you ha to make an important call in the future when you were driving, but you can't because it'll be illegal.

If I had to make an important call, whilst I was driving, I would pull over, stop, and make the phone call. As the law requires... Rather than making a call whilst driving and potentially becoming the reason that an emergency call then has to be made...

If by "normal person" you mean ruining the English language by writing "ur" instead of "your" or "you're" (presumably because you haven't got a clue which one to use so you cover your ineptitude by writing "ur" and expecting the reader to insert the correct version) then no, I will not talk like a "normal person". Also, the FML is from the UK and my comments are based on the facts that being in the UK brings to it (namely that it IS ILLEGAL). Idiot...
