Today, while eating with my kids at McDonalds, my son put his hand up and wanted me to give him a "high five." I went to give him a five, but he moved his hand at the last second and I ended up slapping him in the face. Now everyone there thinks I'm a child-beater. FML

Everyone is so self-righteous on this site: "You took your kid to McDonalds, that's the FML." Get off your high-horses, I'm sure you all eat low-caloric, low-fat home-cooked meals from scratch don't you? Eating out ANYWHERE in America is just as bad as McDonalds. The portions in America nowadays are way too much, this is why most of the country is obese. Sure, there are different amounts of nutrients in the food amongst restaurants, but the thing that makes you gain weight pure and simple is calories. If you consume more calories than you burn in a day, you gain weight; if you burn more calories than you consume, you lose weight. A pound of fat equals about 3500 calories. And just for an example, a blueberry muffin from a coffee shop has almost the same caloric content as a Big Mac from McDonalds (around 500 calories). A spaghetti and meatball dinner from Olive Garden has more calories than both combined (over 1000). Now take that into account that an average male burns around 2000 calories a day at rest, and this only jumps to about 2700 calories if you do light to moderate workout every week. So let's say you are a healthy male, and you burn 2700 calories a day (exercise 1 to 3 times a week), and for simplistic sake you only eat a spaghetti dinner, a muffin for breakfast, and a Big Mac for lunch, and drink only WATER...no sodas, no teas, no coffee (these all have calories in them unless diet or unsweetened versions) you would have consumed about 2200 calories all together. This means you are burning 500 more calories than you have consumed, and if you follow this same diet for a week you will have lost a pound (500 x 7 = 3500). So, unless you have special dietary needs, don't look at the fat content, the sugar content, the sodium content, and all that other bs. Look at the final calorie count PER SERVING, and take note of how big that serving is. Technically, you can eat whatever you want as long as you burn more calories than you consume and still lose weight, however, realistically you should keep your diet balanced, because there are vitamins and minerals that your body needs. There are also other factors, such as your body will start to "maintain" a certain weight once it stops gaining or losing weight, etc., but this is just a guideline and to illustrate a point. If you want more research on how many calories you personally burn per week, just google for a Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) calculator and the Harris Benedict Equation. Then look at your eating lifestyle and make changes if need be. Anyway, my whole point was to illustrate that it's just as bad to eat out ANYWHERE because of the portions and calorie content of all prepared food. Oh, and to the OP, I'm sure "everyone" saw you slap your kid. Big deal. Are you really abusive? No. Move on and stop complaining.

What the hell is wrong with you people? So if you eat some Micky D's, you're instantly a fat, low-class person? My parents took me to McDonald's when I was young, and we're all just fine... PS: I agree with #93.

This is what I would've done: First, I would have apologized to the boy and held up my own hand to let him high five me. Then I would've done the same thing he did, move my hand and get smacked. I would've smiled at the boy after that and said, "Now we're even. But no hitting anybody, this was a one-time thing. Here, real high five," and then let him give me a real high five so we could all get back to our food while saving face. Good plan, huh?

Dude... why do you care what a bunch of mexicans think? and YDI for eating at mcdonalds. No wonder you were too slow, all that grime and grease and chemicals are clogging your insides, and making you weak, unresponsive, malnourished, and slow.
