Today, while on a first date with a guy who turned out to be twice my age, we were playing video games at the theatre before the movie started. Suddenly he falls face first while having a seizure. The EMT asked if my "dad" had a history of epilepsy. FML

All this negativity about older men is a little harsh. Sometimes people find a connection in younger people/older people. If they are legal and there is no abuse going on, you have no right to judge people's lifestyles. You might not like it but there are many women who find comfort knowing they have someone older to help take care of them, or that they are with someone who has already gone through a lot of the lowlife stages. It is all in how you view things. Some people want a friend in the person they date and older men are not perverts for going after younger women, it is just what they are attracted to. I mean this only in legitimate relationships. One night stands and **** buddies are whole different cups of tea. But if the person is content and willing what is the harm?

Yay, some one else who gets it. The gold digger jokes and pedobear jokes are getting old. Age is just a number and we're attracted to who we're attracted to. So long as the younger party is legal who cares? Sigh, I await the day for the jokes to die out.

I get it... but maybe the term "when the jokes die out" isn't the best term when people are making fun of older men. But the point is old. I am not attracted to older men, at the most I can do five years, but I know a lot of successful older men/younger women couples. It is actually a pretty new accurance to marry someone your own age. Sixty years ago marrying an older man wouldn't have seemed that big a deal. In the past 14 year old girls were marrying 40, 50 year old men. I am not saying this is a prime example of love and we need to bring it back, but just because someone doesn't 'get it' doesn't mean its wrong. Hell, interracial marriage was illegal within the last hundred years and gay marriage is still in the fight--why spend so much time trying to make someone unhappy just to prove a point? Want them to leave the older man they are happier with, people? What does it accomplish? Nothing.

Ok, to those women that think older guys are more mature, no they/we aren't. We are just as immature as any other guy. The difference, we just know how to hide it and we know when its ok to show it. Feel free to go ahead and think about where your relationship will be in 10-20 years as well. You know, when you are like 30-35 and he's 50-55. Enjoy.
