#91 it's a better idea to get them nail caps. declawing is pretty much like cutting your finger off at the knuckle for them, and if they ever get rehomed into an outside environment/escape from your house, they're pretty much defenseless. trimming doesn't really help. i trimmed mine and two hours later he tore open my arm. nail caps protect furniture, other pets, and skin, while still letting them keep their nails. not nearly as costly as a declawing, too. on regards to the FML, happened to me before. hurts like a bitch. :C
