Today, my girlfriend told me that we should take a break from our relationship, because it'd be best for the both of us. Later, I found out that she really meant it'd be best for her and her new boyfriend. FML

Girls like that are stupid. It hurts worse when the guy finds out later that he got dumped for someone else and the girl didn't even have the balls to tell him. In reality OP's now ex-girlfriend probably dated and even did the guy she dumped him for before actually dumping him.

She'll probably leave the guy she's leaving you for for yet another guy. There are women like this, and I've been in that situation before. Sucks that it happened to you too OP, but quite honestly you are better off. If she's willing to let you go then she isn't good enough for you, that's the mentality you need to have. Good luck, and for your sake I hope you wore protection.
