Today, my new neighbor moved in. Because she was fairly young, I offered to mow her grass whenever it needed cut. Her dad then tried to start a fight with me because he thought it was sexual come-on. FML

How young is 'fairly' young? You were most likely being nice, but you can't blame the father for reacting the way he did. People aren't as nice as they used to be.

people are just as nice as they used to be. people have not changed in 100,000 years. some are nice, some are assholes. there was no golden age in the past where everyone was kind and polite.

Genetically correct, but societally, so very, very wrong. A few centuries ago even murderers were polite, and drunkards apologized for vomiting on the floor. Now they just cuss at you, if they are even capable of thinking beyond themselves that is.

It could also be that he was just being nice, and you know, since that's such a rare thing nowadays, it was misconstrued. But, with that said... all my bets are on him thinking with his OTHER head.

If she is old enough to live by herself then dude can make her own choices without her dad interfering I know he was just being protective but trying to start a fight.... Really?

If she's young why would you offer to mow her lawn. Wouldn't you talk to her father instead? Unless of course he's right and you were trying to get some hot mulching action going on.
