Today, I thought it would be nice to take my girlfriend out to a nice restaurant for my birthday. She got a little headache after we ordered, so she went outside to get some air. I ate a $100 meal and had Happy Birthday sang to me by the restaurant staff. Alone. FML

Same thing different taste

Today, I took my girlfriend out to a fancy restaurant for her birthday. I'd arranged beforehand for some of the staff to come out and sing happy birthday to her, but it all backfired when she started panicking and had a serious anxiety attack from all the attention. FML

Today, it's my birthday. My wife took me to my favorite restaurant for dinner. She made me pay for my birthday dinner, along with hers. She also got me a gift card to HER favorite store. FML

Today, my girlfriend decided to treat me out to dinner and cake for my birthday. My mom felt left out and yelled at my girlfriend in an angry tirade. My girlfriend went home. I'm spending my birthday, alone in my room. FML

Today, I took my friends out to an expensive restaurant for my birthday treat. They had arranged for a surprise birthday cake for me which I cut, very happily, while they chanted birthday wishes. When the bill came, I discovered I was supposed to pay for my great 'surprise' cake. FML

Today, it was my girlfriend's birthday, so I decided to take her to a fancy restaurant and give her an expensive $400 necklace that I had bought. Being traditional, I asked the waiter to arrange it nicely on the tray when he came with our dessert. Neither he nor the necklace ever showed up. FML

Today, it's my girlfriend's birthday. To celebrate, I spent the day with her and then took her out to a really nice dinner. She is currently giving me the silent treatment because I didn't write "Happy Birthday" on her Facebook wall. FML

Today, my boyfriend came to visit me for my birthday. Over dinner he handed me a blank card that had the words "I love you" hastily written on it. When the waiter came to take our order he informed him that we'd be paying separately. Happy Birthday. FML

Today, I went to dinner with friends for my birthday. During the whole thing they insisted that we get whatever we wanted and celebrate, but when the check came, they all looked at me expectantly. I just bought my friends $150 of food for my birthday present. FML

Today, I took my girlfriend of a year out on a date, a nice fancy dinner and a movie. After dinner, I said that I was feeling sick and just wanted to go home. I didn't have the heart to tell her that dinner was so expensive that I didn't have money for the movie. FML

Today, I treated my friends to lunch at a posh restaurant because it's my birthday. While we were walking leisurely around the mall afterwards, their boyfriends showed up. I spent the next few hours walking alone behind them while they were walking hand in hand with their boyfriends. FML

Are you kidding me?! There is no way that this is a YDI. Even if she did have a headache, you shouldn't have to cancel all of your day plans just so she can have some rest. It's his birthday, not hers. Suck it up. Also, 22 and 33, it makes no difference who takes who to where. That's not the point of this FML. The point is, she left him.

You and your girlfriend are both suffering from poor manners and a degree of selfishness. She stepped out for air and was out there long enough for the meal to be prepared, served and completed? Assuming she wasn't kidnapped, she should have let you know she wouldn't be able to complete the meal. Through all this time, did you check on her? It may have started as a small headache and progressed to something more serious. I can't imagine letting anyone be gone from the table so long without checking on them. This relationship needs work. Happy Birthday in any case.

Wait, wait, wait. The same place that offers $100 meals will also sing happy birthday? I'm calling B.S. Any establishment that is high class enough to offer $100 dollar meals would never stoop as low as singing happy birthday. Either you are exaggerating on the story or you consider 5 "Surf 'n Turfs" to be a meal. If the latter is true, no wonder she left.

Some people are just pansy asses. I'm actually going to give this guy the benefit of the doubt and believe him when he says 'little headache' because if it was a migraine surely she would have mentioned that. After you ordered AND on your birthday...damn. That does suck. Give yourself the gift of freedom and drop that flaky weakling. Happy Birthday.
