Your future, our clutter

By pwib - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - United States - Napa

Today, a bunch of my friends have been accepted to various colleges while I've been denied by the past 5. To cheer me up, my mom drove me to McDonald's. While we were in the drive-thru, she asked them if they had any job openings. FML

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Hey, don't worry. Maybe you'll get burned by the oil from the chips and then have a life-changing enlightenment, which will push you to get into Harvard and become a billionaire. Then again... Maybe not.

Just go to community college, and anybody can get in.

Find a lesser tier college and work on grades. Grades are so important to get in the college you want, that's probably why you didn't get in.

If the show Community has taught me anything, it's that community college is cheap, anyone can get in, and madcap hijinx are the norm. Plus you can get an education and stuff.

But you'll definitely be accepted to South Harmon Institute of Technology :]

That's not so bad. My mum made me send an application form to IKEA. that thanked me for 'deciding to FURNISH my future' with them.

Why are you rejected from all the colleges? It's either A) You didn't care about your grades in high school, B) You're applying to Ivy League schools or C) The world is screwing you over purposefully so that it can watch you make lemonade with the lemons it's darting at your head and you can't control anything that happens to you.

I agree with the other posters. Go to Community College then transfer out. Also, whatever else you do, just get college over with. It's a lot more difficult when you have a full time job and you're trying to do online classes that require 10 page papers every two weeks on top of your outcomes assessment, which is a 20 page research paper, on top of having a social life, sleeping and not living in a squalid apartment. Wait, are we still talking about you?

Give up on the teenage dream of being a social butterfly and half of that sleep thing and you're all good. I found time for 40 a week plus night classes at the community college, you just won't get out much for a few years. Now I have time to work 70 a week and still socialize 3 nights, living the Canadian dream. (Making enough money to never run out of beer)
