I really wouldn't say this is an FML just based on the info present. I mean, maybe if your boyfriend was rolling in disposable income but never spent any money on you, then it could work. But it seems much more likely to me that he just doesn't have that much money to spend in the first place. And you do come across as somewhat...less than respectable...for going in to exchange the bracelet in the first place. To be honest, you sound like a whiny gold digger in this post.

I agree that's pretty shitty, but I find myself being irritated with women who hate their husbands for not throwing money at them...and then they go and exchange his gifts because they "aren't good enough."

when i read this post i interpreted it that the fml was more just the fact that he lied to her about it, not that she couldn't cash in on it or w/e. if he had been honest about where he had gotten it from in the first place i can't imagine she would have cared at all (she would have loved it, regardless of where it was from, as long as that was truthful), but i think it sucks that he MADE A POINT to make sure to tell her that he specifically got it from a certain store even though he did not. now, if he lied because he knew that she would be unhappy with the gift unless it was specifically from tiffanys then yeah, shes a bizzatch, but i don't think that was the case
