Today, I went to Tiffany's to exchange a bracelet my boyfriend had given me for our year anniversary. It was the first gift that he actually spent money on me for. The sales lady then told me that the bracelet was not a real Tiffany's item. FML

Today, I went into hysterics and started crying when my boyfriend pulled out a Tiffany's box at dinner. Then I found out he'd used the old box to make the $15 earrings he bought seem more "special." FML

Today, my boyfriend came over with a broken engraved bracelet that I paid 50 dollars for. I was so angry but when I stated "I am going to call them and get a new one!" my boyfriend said back to me "No it's okay, I didn't really like it anyways." It was for our 2 year anniversary. FML

Today, my boyfriend told me he'd drive me to the jeweler's to pick out a ring. We drove there, I picked the ring, and the sales person rang it up. I glanced at my boyfriend, only for him to reply, "Well don't look at me!" FML

ouch. and idk why ppl like expensive jewelery so much? I'd be happy with something like chocolates on vday or something lol. MOST guys have no clue what presents to get, so just go with something easy (unless ur married) like my bf had no idea what I wanted for vday because I really didn't want anything so he got me 9 chocolate covered strawberries to signify our 9 months together. yum

maybe she needed a smaller bracelet. people r so ready to just to conclusions. u don't know their lives. just this teeny weeny little portion they've decided to share with u bc they want a whole second and a half of sympathy from anyone and everyone. very few of these are actually FMLs. and to OP, be happy he thought of u enough to buy u a gift he thought u would like. it's not like ur life is going to end bc u don't have some lame expensive piece of worthless jewelry. grow a heart and grow up. if u really love him and he loves u, how much he spent on a gift should not matter.
