Today, I got two viruses on my laptop. One was a fake anti-spyware program that cluttered the screen with pop-ups. The other opened the browser repeatedly, each time to a generic porn site. This all conveniently happened at work, on a projector and during a meeting. FML

I hate those **** viruses! my mom went ballistic on me when I got one. I tried to explain to her that I didn't get it by being on a **** website >_< but this is like the 100th '**** popped up in a meeting/in class/on a date" FML. they're getting reaaaaallly old. x_x

Yeah, viruses don't download themselves into computers, and as you didn't post any defensive, I'm leaning toward YDI But agreed with #5-look into some protection or get a Mac.

Maybe next time don't look at **** on your work computer? Oh, my bad, I don't know if there will be a next time. YDI

The best anti-virus protection is common sense. Viruses don't just magically infect your computer. More often than not it's the user's actions that cause it, whether by opening an infected file or visiting a compromised website or something like that.

That sucks =[ I think I had the same fake anti spyware virus (and I have no idea how it got on the computer). I got rid of it by downloading "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware." I don't remember if we can post link on here or not but I'll give it a go: http://www.geekpolice.net/malware-removal-guides-f12/how-to-remove-antivirus-system-pro-removal-guide-t9270.htm As for the **** viruses, well, I can't really help you with that one. But yeah. FYL

My son got that same one on his system (I think it was called "SpyCrush"). It doesn't crush spyware, it IS spyware. I second the info for MalwareBytes. It TOTALLY ROX!!!!
