Definitely memorable

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2011 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, a friend and I saw some deer outside my car. Since we were both leaving for college the next day we wanted to do something memorable so we decided to chase the deer. Turns out the deer wanted to chase us too. We ran for over five minutes screaming. FML

Did you end up running over a "dead" deer with a car as a last resort later on?

Whitetail deer are very cautious creatures here in Pennsylvania, that's why when I hunt them I stay perfectly still, and wash/spray my clothes with scent eliminators. If they hear me or see me, they'll go the opposite direction. If some maniacs are chasing them, they'll definitely run they other way. Even if they didn't run the other way, there's no way you could outrun deer for 5 minutes. Deer can run over twice as fast as we can, so there's no way you could have outran deer for 5 minutes. Also, you couldn't have got that far away from your vehicle for it to take 5 minutes to run back to it.

1.) Wild animal is an unpredictable animal, you can't really know what to expect of it. Sure, you can expect a deer to run from a lion and such, but this situation is different. Deer who catch wind of someone sneaking on them is different from someone they probably saw coming. 2.) Don't take things so literally. So OP said 5 minutes, big deal. Don't take every word literally on FMLs, especially time related.

why would you kill an innocent creature!? >:(

50, I understand your taking time literally point, but I don't think that applies to this situation, because of the word "over." If OP said around 5 minutes, or just 5 minutes, I'd agree. But saying over 5 minutes is specific. And yes, I do kill innocent animals.

Why do I kill innocent creatures? Because I'm human, and humans are on top of the food chain, and I eat the deer that I kill. I just don't shoot creatures for the hell of it.

OP sounds pretty dumb, so I don't think it matters if he says over 5 minutes or 5 minutes. :)

Someone takes these way too seriously

i call bs as well because even in the woods here..we tried feeding deers for months on end to try and get them to come up to us and. eventually they would kinda linger near but if you even moved an inch, they would scatter and run off...and I hope you don't shoot them cos if so that's just WRONG! -_-

Well, if no one got hurt ( deer and human alike ), then it was. memorable moment. "Haha...", says one. "What are you laughing about?", says the other. "Just remembering that thime we got chased by deer!" replies the first one "Oh yeah! Haha, I remember that!"

this FML is bull sh!t deer will always run from you!!! I have been a hunter my whole life and also feed deer in the winter. Deer run from any threat a fox will make deer run when they are yarding witch if there was more than three in a group they are yarding for the winter go spread your lies to someone who believes you!

I take it you have never seen that video of a deer attacking, as opposed to running from, a dog?

You wanted to do something memorable so you chased deer? Do you ride a short bus?

Well you'll definitely remember that moment of stupidity
