Door knocking

By firewait - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - Canada

Today, I gave my 16 year-old step-daughter and her friends a lecture on respecting other people's privacy. Two hours later, I accidentally walked into her room without knocking. She and her friends were giving each other bikini waxes. Now her friends call me "the hypocritical pervert." FML

i'd be more concerned that her and her friends give each other bikini waxes

Well the pervert thing is unjustified, but seriously, you can't tell her off for not respecting other people's privacy and then just walk into her room without knocking. Just apologise to her and let it serve as a reminder for next time to think before you go in there. She's a 16 year old girl, be glad she wasn't doing anything worse when you walked in!

you guys are a bunch of hicks. some girls want to have bikini waxes so instead of paying someone to do it, they just do it tgth with their friends. its kinda like, a def more modern way of pluckin each other's eyebrows.. or such

Wow, I wish I could have walked in on that.

It could have been worse, at least she wasn't getting tag teamed

yeah any "parent" saying that ur kids right privacy is bogus must have terrific relationship with their kids.. get ur mind in gear and think back to when u were a teen..i bet u were absolutly THRILLED when your parents just up and bust in ur room..i bet u loved spending every waking moment with them showing them EVERYTHING u do and telling them EVERTHING about u... haha ur "u-r-merely-a-teenage-child-with-no-right-to-personal-space" method seems McShitty now..when u dont give ur kids even a little respect they will never grow to respect u. yeah im not saying they should be secluded to themselves all the time, but without an element of privacy, like i said, there wont be an element of respect. beat a dog and it wont obey u, treat it well and establish trust and it will respond in ur favor. same with most teens..only u have to tell them that ur demand respect in return, because they might take advantage of it (i was a teen not too long ago, i remember how they think) in short.. just dont be a controlling ****..itll screw up ur kids.. oh and haha fyl..i wouldve biffed on her door as soon as i shut it XP

I'd be horrified and pissed if my dad did that to me. But then again, what the heck, it's your daughters fault for not locking her door. Some people are so ******* stupid.

you guys are idiots. i've definitely given/received help with bikini waxes from my friends. it's not really a big deal, if you're not 12 years old or a prude. not everyone who wants their bikini line to be hairless is having sex. maybe they're just going to wear a BIKINI. and to the OP, i don't think you deserved this at all. accidents happen, hilarious accidents.

Seems like you accidentally walked in on them, so I wouldn't say it's hypocritical. Doesn't sound like you have the loveliest daughter either.

at 16 years old she deserves to not worry about having you walk in when her friend is over. maybe if she was alone id feel bad for you but in this situation YDI big time

You are hypocritical. Not everyone actually has a lock on their door and if they want to give each other bikini waxes that is their decision.
