Today, I learned that even when you put a sock on the door because you are having sex with your boyfriend, it doesn't mean your mom won't walk into your brand new apartment for a "surprise visit." FML

actually, that's not true. i'm currently in college and the sign for having sex isn't a sock on the door. it's locking the damned thing.

And a sock on the door would help... how?

Why would you feel the need to place a sock on your very own apartment door? People don't usually feel the need to announce to the world they are having sex.

I actually feel really bad for the mom.

there's this wonderful invention called a lock.

You left the door unlocked because why

why would you put a sock on the door of your own apartment?

Ayy at least it wasn't your landlord. We had an apartment where the landlord would just walk in your place any moment and snoop through all of your stuff. In the paperwork it said they would give notice but never did and it would be scary when you just hear both of your locks come undone and someone trying to open the door but the chain caught so they would try to discreetly close it so you wouldn't know.

There were also people who would go and try to break in all of the time and bang your door down in the middle of the night. There were three drug lords/gang members who lived above us and then this family of people I knew who had gone to prison multiple times moved in down the hall. They ******* stole our clothes out of the washer and would take everyone else's and tear it up and hang it on the fence. They were very violent too I saw them drag people behind the building all of the time and you would hear what sounded like someone getting stabbed and hear them yelling and screaming. Apartments are ****** up places! We live in Nebraska and drove down to Corbin Kentucky(20 miles from Tennessee) and bought a camper for our college life instead of being in an apartment or dorm. So if you guys are having problems you should look into buying an rv too, I was worried about being claustrophobic but it's working out great. If any of you live anywhere in that area the place we bought ours at was Valley RV Sales they have some nice ones. Or you could go to RVs of America.
