The old fillings were probably on baby teeth which fell out if anything.. I thought I had more fillings than I do now but it's because they were on baby teeth which are long gone now.
so sue him.
In Soviet Russia, Fillings ask about your dentist! :O
Wow, you all know that x-rays only show decay on certain surfaces of your teeth right? If you have decay on the surface of your teeth (the part you chew on) an x-ray will not show decay I would say 99% of the time. By the time you can see occlusal decay on an x-ray, you have a seriously deep cavity. Also each dentist decides to do fillings at different times, some wait until it is too late and some do fillings as soon as they see the first stage of decay. So stop complaining!
Dentists love ripping people off for services they don't need. Root canals, wisdom teeth removal, fillings, anything. The vast majority of people don't actually need to get their wisdom teeth removed, but dentists suggest it anyway since they get paid $1000-1500 per wisdom tooth removed.
That's illegal, now is your chance to become a millionaire... SUE YOUR OLD DENTIST!
The idea behind filling in a cavity is that you remove EVERY trace of the rotted area of the tooth and then fill in the space with a metal/polymer of some kind. There wouldn't be any trace of cavity one way or another. Ergo, because a dentist couldn't tell you one way or another if a filling had been done for a cavity or not, this is either fake and a really bad attempt at a FML or the second dentist doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

that's malpractice! He could get in serious trouble for that, such as having his license revoked. I would report him. He could potentially hurt someone, not to mention scamming many people, and the healthcare system.
Now I wanna be a dentist when I grow up.
