WE know that she didn't need to do it for the gyno, SHE probably didn't know it was unnecessary if it was her first visit - which it seems like it was since she said she's shaving for the gyno and any girl who has been to a gyno before would know they don't have to.

For organised chaos if you do continue to read: This was in my original post and specifically discusses why shaving isn't cleaner for men or for women. "Clean" Shaven I will repeat what has been said very clearly already again because it seems to have not made an impact--a completely shaven vulva is NOT cleaner. Ironically, its actually dirtier (all you guys who keep stating that you'll only go down on a girl when she's shaved please note this). The pubic hair serves as a barrier to prevent E. coli from the colon moving into the ****** and urethra (which causes nasty urinary tract infections). When this hair is removed, it increases the amount of E. coli that is able to spread. Please also note that guys are not exempt from this! You have just as much E. coli going on down there (your hair acts as a barrier too!) and are simply less likely to get UTIs from it because your urethra is ~8 X longer than the average woman's (1-1.5 inches vs. 8). Trimming vs. shaving is actually the better option if you prefer a sculpted/groomed look. Overall, shaving really is less clean--and it is not a "myth" that it increases the average woman's chances for a yeast infection as well (which also sucks for a woman's partner). If you're a woman and don't believe me, please ask your doctor directly. Even gyno's sometimes don't feel comfortable criticizing a woman's grooming preference.

21 is just too lazy to shave

if you want her to shave, ask her to. going to the gyn sucks, it makes us feel more comfortable to be clean-shaven. But it's not something we want to bother with on a regular basis because some of us are prone to razor burn. Trust me, it's worse down there than you guys can ever get on your faces. if you want her to, ask. but really it's a lot more trouble than you think.

organized chaos ill agree that our fundamentals differ and ill also agree that there's nothing wrong with that - i would like to say though - i do value both mental and physical health - and yes society does affect both of those - only affects - not the cause. thats just my view. i wish you well.

when i had a physical appointment for a PAP test i apologized to the doc for not being shaved and she was like oooo its alright! And then was laughing at the fact that people care more about shaving for a physical then for sex! Apparently its quite common so dont feel so bad :P. And If you have sensitive skin its really not pleasent to shave there.. be understanding!!
