WRT the OP's education: you have no idea. My friend has two degrees in fields that WERE in demand before cutbacks, and he works somewhere making less than half of what he will make when he lands a job in his field.
I hate it when folks assume that people in positions like the OP's are un-or-under educated. I'm about to get a Master's degree in a field I was guaranteed work in when I started my bachelor's, and now I'm not positive that I'll be able to get a job in my field at all. This guy does need to stop bitching, though. He became a security guard by choice, even if it wasn't his first choice. Most places pay security guards pretty well, too. I'd love to have his job, if I can't get one in my field. It would be cake, assuming you're not afraid of dead bodies.
