Jumping the gun

Today, my boyfriend took me on a surprise date to an expensive restaurant. After the meal, he got down on his knee and proposed. We've only been dating for two weeks, so I said no. He just silently kept staring me in the eyes, no matter what I said or did. I ended up having to walk home. FML

I know, right? Two whole weeks.

Why are you calling him your boyfriend only after two weeks? Im not trying to start anything but OP is complaining about it only being two weeks (which is understandable) but she calls him her boyfriend... Eh to each their own.

I'm not sure I quite get what you're saying here. Are you saying at 2 weeks it's too early to be boyfriend/girlfriend?

Wait, i've been with my girlfriend for less than 2 weeks, and WE can't be boyfriend/girlfriend yet? Where do you ******* live?

She is just saying they have been bf/gf for two weeks. They could have been dating longer, but she isn't going to put dating for 4weeks bf/gf for 2weeks. That would be dumb.

Completely agree after two weeks you're both just acquaintances really. Sex or no sex 2 weeks is rushing it for a relationship status.

I don't think 81 is off base. You can definitely casually date someone for a little while before establishing you want to be in a long term relationship with each other. OP could have been dating her boyfriend for a few week before they decided to 'officially' become boyfriend and girlfriend (or could even have just known each other/been friends). Though of course she wouldn't have explained all that in the FML because there wouldn't have been enough space/ been exactly relevant to the FML.

Are you always this rude to people 56? I never said you "can't be boyfriend/girlfriend", I couldn't give less of a **** about your personal life. I just found it funny that OP complained about the proposal being rushed, yet she calls him her boyfriend after two weeks. Learn to read.

If they were dating exclusively, as in not seeing other people, it's reason enough to consider him her boyfriend, even after only two weeks.

When are you suposed you start calling them your 'boyfriend' then, huh?

Little did she know, that he was secretly trying to mind control her, with his gaze from the rejection.

Wow he should have known that was going to be awkward, seriously who proposes after two weeks?!

A psycho I've been dating my gf for 3 years and I'm not poppin the question yet
