Junk in the trunk

Today, I noticed that my very expensive facial cleanser was almost out. I had moved in with my boyfriend recently, and questioned him, telling him "You don't have to use so much to wash your face. That's a $70 bottle." To which he responded, "Oh, that nice-smelling stuff? Yeah, I use that on my junk." FML

who the hell spends 70 dollars on one bottle of facial cleanser???

I sure plenty of people will shit on her for spending a lot of money on facial cleanser, but whatever. If she can afford it, then who cares. For people who aren't lucky to have a naturally good complexion, a higher quality product can sometimes make a difference. If she didn't use it and if her FML was about her boyfriend complaining about her acne or whatever, you'd be saying YDI for not taking care of her skin.

Facial cleansers are way too expensive for their effect. She'd be better off just washing her face regularly for mild acne and applying something with benzoyl peroxide (Proactive or a cheaper brand) in it daily to treat a moderate form of acne. She should buy her boyfriend some perfume for his birthday. XP

Unless you are speaking from experience, you need to hold your tongue. I've used just about every type of product out there and nothing has worked for me. I have moderate to mild acne. If I could find something that would absolutely clear up my skin, $70 or no, I would buy it in a heart beat with no regrets.

You are so right and same rule applies to hair

YDI for buying useless watery and a bit smelling cosmetics products (water and soap works just the same), but FYL for not educating your bf about what he can and what he can't use. I hope he offered to replace the thing (even useles and expensive, you bought it and it's yours, so he should replace)

Different facial cleaners do affect the skin differently. I've tried various kinds, and more expensive products truly do work better.

I agree with 19, I started using better stuff as a teen and my skin improved, now that I can't afford it as often it varies. Damn college tuition.

LOL is you think water and soap do the same thing as a facial cleanser. Water and soap dries out your skin, moron.

woo boysenberry condoms FTW!

Make him buy you a new bottle or two! It's the least he can do for not asking before he used your products.

Yeah, spending that much is not needed. I read from people that actually know a little about cosmetics that you shouldn't bother spending so much on anything you rinse directly off (facial cleanser, shampoo, etc.). But whatever, if that makes you feel good about yourself, so be it. Americans almost religiously believe that if something's more expensive ohmigodsitmustbebetter. Break it down and you pay for the packaging, the cost to ship and this 'peace of mind'. And this isn't an FML. Get over it already.

I hope he bought you a new bottle.

Haha that does suck. At least he's clean now heh;

I agree, spending 70 dollars on a facial cleanser is ridiculous. There are much cheaper ones that work better. So, YDI there. However, I also put FYL for having a boyfriend that either can't read the description on the bottle, or just likes using facial cleanser on his "junk." But, to all of the people saying soap and water work just as well, that is not entirely true. I know that for me, and probably many others, soap dries out my face. But, unlike OP, i just buy a 6 dollar bottle of facial cleanser. Gets the job done quite well.

I didn't mean to write "that work better." I should've wrote that there are cheaper ones that work great.
