Today, I moved into a new house. The landlord insists it's OK for her to come up whenever she wants because she owns the house. We aren't allowed to lock the doors and she has two 8-year-olds. They come into the bathroom every time they hear the shower running. We have a clear shower curtain. FML

No. No it's not okay. If I'm not mistaken that's illegal for her to do.

Put a chair in front of the door. That will keep them out. It's not a lock...

That is complete bull! You pay rent that is your space . Don't let her pull wool over your eyes. My parents are my landlords,i have the third floor my sister has the second , they have the first floor. They always call and tell me when they need to come in which is very rare . They treat us like a landlord and tenants should be ,family or not. You should be reporting her asap. Or you move . And don't take her crap.!

WTF? you seriously think it's "okay" for them to do that??? Seriously..... this is so beyond illegal, there is so much you could do about this-- first of all, moving the **** out. DUH

That's illegal as hell! She should have to provide you with 24 hours notice before entering the property. As for not being allowed to lock the doors, that's just the bullshit cherry on the crazy sundae!! You are entitled to privacy and it's a matter of safety. Check your lease and talk to an attorney. Break that lease and get the hell out of there. She sounds crazy.

Ops landlord is Nucking Futs !!

Why didn't you go over this before you signed the lease?

That is illegal. Lock your doors and if she has a problem with it google your states tenant rights and give them to her. You get 24 hrs notice before the landlord can enter.

I'm not sure what state you're in, but in PA it's illegal for a landlord to enter the premises without 24 hours notice. Move out ASAP!

Move again then. Say it's not working and look for a place with better privacy

Uh... That's totally against the law, no matter where you live. Lock the doors, call the cops on her if she just unlocks them.
