Lonely birthday

Today, it's my birthday. Out of loneliness, I went to order some flowers and a cake "for a friend". The guy who delivered it to my house was the same guy from the counter. FML

That sucks. I'm sorry you were alone on your birthday. Perhaps he thought your friend was coming round later, or lived with you.

You could easily have been over at your friend's house when the cake arrived. No big deal.

I really don't think anyone would notice unless you kept insisting that it's "for a friend." You know what people who are actually buying things for a friend say? Nothing, because they aren't trying to justify a perfectly normal purchase.
