Lovesick

Today, I was working at my job as cashier. This really attractive girl who often comes in walked in, so I mustered up the courage to ask her out by writing my number on a dollar bill. She paid and the amount her change happened to be a dollar. I go to hand her the money when she sees it and says, "Keep the change!" FML

If someone came up to you and just wordlessly handed you their phonenumber, would you really be inclined to call them? I don't see how this is considered a reasonable strategy for asking someone out. Surely asking for their phone number is a better way to show interest, because honestly just expecting some stranger to call you because you gave them your number is a bit arrogant.

That's a really great way to make some extra cash. Keep it up.

To be honest, it was a nice idea... but the chances she'd have taken out the bill and read it before the next time she spent it would be very small.

Not everybody is single, you know.

Usually the goal is to get the girls number, not give the your number to a girl...but ok

A lot of girls don't want to date a complete stranger. I mean, no offense, but what if you were a total creep or something. It could be dangerous to go out with someone that you don't even know. If you had had a conversation with her, and then wrote your number on the bill when she could clearly see you doing it, I think you would have a better chance.

Great. Now you have a dollar to shove in some stripper's G-string! If you can't get laid by asking an actual girl out, you can always buy it!

You are WORKING. Why are you doing that when you're working as a cashier? It's not exactly the best job.

I am a bartender and I constantly have guys writing their numbers on dollar bills, napkins, receipts, etc..I never call them and I never would. If you don't have the guts to talk to a girl first, don't be creepy and try to slip her your number discreetly like that. I mean, if I was her, I would have still taken my change, but I would have just stuck the money in my wallet and never even glanced at the number. I guess its a bonus for you that you got a tip out of it though..

I would have just taken the dollar and then never called you...no sense wasting money.
