Meat is murder

Today, my fiancé's parents visited. I keep chickens for their eggs, and his parents own a farm, so we had a connection. They told us to leave the house while they cooked us dinner. When we returned, we faced two steaming plates of chicken. My chickens. They had names. FML

Awwwwww, that's so sad!!! Like they served you the family dog... So, did you tell them, or did you try to 'man up'?

That sucks bad! I would have burst out crying right in front of their eyes... I can't believe people are clicking YDI =/

#8, you're thinking of vegans. Ovo-lacto-vegetarians (too many hyphens?) don't mind dairy and eggs because you don't have to kill the animals to get them. But I agree with #5. It takes a hell of a long time to kill, pluck, butcher, and cook even *one* chicken, let alone more than one. I have reason to doubt this one.

#8, the eggs people eat are not fertilised. It's like eating the chicken's period. =] That's so sad for you. I would have been like #10, burst into tears. I'm also vegetarian, so sorry about your chickens. =[ RIP to them. ETA: Yeah, no hyphen between lacto-ovo and vegetarian.

Eggs are just eggs, there's not really any chicken fetus about them. Some vegetarians eat them. There's different levels, this person must be the kind that eat eggs and drink milk, but don't eat actual meat. 4, you're stupid. There is such a thing as pet chickens and egg-laying chickens. Or hens or whatever they're called. 5. Someday, I'm going to make you a hamburger out of your loved ones. It will be hilarious. It will be on YouTube. There will be fava beans too, as a joke. OP: At least you were a vegetarian and you noticed it before anything got horribly worse, right?

#8 and #5 were same person. And Yea, I was thinking vegans, or super religious vegetarians who don't support the abortion of chicken fetuses. Either way.. YAY for real homemade chicken :) #14: Sounds good

Sorry to hear about your chickens. :( I have chickens as well and only for their eggs. I could never eat an animal which I owned and petted (although I eat meat so yes I'm a hypocrite). They didn't even ask to butcher your chickens? >:(

Super religious people not supporting chicken abortion? Well... that was good for a laugh.

Wow that must have hurt! I hope you told them! No use keeping it locked inside. I kinda agree with the other comments: how long were you out, because it takes a long time to prepare and then cook a fresh, living chicken!

love home made chicken but i could never eat the chickens we raised...
