Milkmaid

Today, when done feeding my newborn, I stated to my husband that I'm a cow. He said, in a sincere tone, "Oh, baby, you'll lose the weight soon." I meant cow because I'm producing so much milk. FML

Ah, I could understand his mistake, double meaning! You said it!!!

I don't see how this is an FML. You have baby weight. Your husband isn't making a huge deal of it. BTW, "cow" is usually synonymous with being overweight. All mammals breastfeed.

Actually, that's the first place I went, too, and I'm female, and have two kids. Easy mistake, definitely not FYL, especially since he was trying to be supportive.

He thought you were being depressed about your size [obviously you gain weight during pregnancy] and he tried to make you feel better. Don't read too far into this, he was being a good husband.

#20, hahahaha. Not everyone gains weight when they have a baby. My mom stayed the same weight by staying active, and when she had me, she instantly lost weight and ended up weighing less then she did before she got pregnant. I think this is a FML and a YDI, because your husband didn't get what you were trying to say, and you felt embarrassed, but also you weren't that specific, and the 'feeling like a cow' reference can go both ways.

Almost everyone gains weight while getting pregnant and breast feeding, it isn't that bad

Well, similes don't always work these days, hmm
