Today, my long-term boyfriend took me to my favorite restaurant. After the main course, he knelt down and finally proposed to me. I was so happy, I almost cried. Until an old woman came over and said I was way too old for him. I'm three years younger than my fiancé. FML

Today, at a restaurant, I happily watched as my boyfriend of three years got down on his knees and proposed to me. Before I could say yes and hug him, a girl flung herself at him, kissed him and shouted, "Yes!" With us still highly confused, she then ran away. FML

Today, I was out to lunch when someone in the distance proposed to his partner. She said yes, everyone clapped and cheered. I, on the other hand, burst into tears and couldn't stop bawling for about half an hour. I'm a 32 year-old man and didn't even know the happy couple. FML

Don't feel bad, people say stupid stuff sometimes, nothing personal, they just don't think.... One woman asked me if my brother and his gf are my parents... They're 5 years older than me!

Congrats on the engagement, but why say you "long term boyfriend"? Did/do you have a short term one as well? Anyways, don't let someone else ruin your happiness. You will most likely never see them again anyways.

She's a bitch and it shouldn't bother you. At least you know you're younger than her by a long shot. If you see her again, just wave (make sure it's with the hand your engagement ring is on). Congrats on the proposal hun. You should be happy!
