Today, I learned it's a bad idea to text and smoke while drunk, because there is an increased risk of throwing your phone off the balcony and sticking your cigarette into your pocket. FML

For those of you choosing to thumb me down, I'd appreciate a response why you're doing so. You're thumbing down someone who acquired the problem as a baby because of their mother smoking in the house. Not my fault whatsoever that I acquired the problem. I've also had several family members die from lung cancer directly caused by smoking. Care to keep thumbing me down?

I completely agree, it's a disgusting habit and causes so much harm to those doing it and those around them. But people get so obsessed and addicted to it they can't think of a world without it...

I haven't thumbed you down, but I can see why some would. You're blaming OP for something he hasn't done, and no, it's not "people like OP" that's the cause of your health issues. If your mom had gone outside like OP did when you were a kid, you'd have been fine. If she smoked during pregnancy, then yeah, that's even worse. I know a lot of people who quit before trying to get pregnant though. Also, no, I don't smoke. Finally, sorry you have health issues, especially if they could've been avoided.

Reread the FML, I'm blaming OP for being a smoker and having such a disgusting habit. OP deserves his misfortune on the grounds of being a smoker only :P my little rant was because two people right off the bat thumbed me down for it. Probably just trolls, but who knows. I still can't be around smokers at all because of my mom. She didn't smoke during pregnancy though. 10 feet away and I can't breathe.

37, I have the same problem and I feel for you, but I don't go getting preachy every time someone FMLs about smoking. The reason you're being thumbed down is probably (and maybe I'm wrong here) because your post sounds incredibly self-righteous.

Agreed, everything in moderation and no smoking. Never liked it and still dont. My mum was a nurse in the operating theatre and I would hear gory full length descriptions of the operation.
