wow thats so insensitive and i dont care if she was just trying to distract the OP. she needs some brushing up to do
she was probably complimenting you to try to lightn your mood. not an fml.
When I started reading this, I though the aunt was going to say something like, "You know, that old son-of-a-bitch molested me during my whole childhood." Now, there's your FML!
That ***** does not know when the right time for things is!!
I'm not sure what to click here....b/c "i agree your life sucks" is true b/c your grandfather died, but your aunt's comment (which is the focus of the post) isn't comparatively a big deal. I can't put "you deserve it" b/c nothing has actually happened (outside of your grandfather dying, which was not your fault)...although, it is your fault for having a good sense of style?
How exactly does her life suck because an old person died?? If anything her life was the opposite of suck because she got to know her grandfather and form a relationship with him (assuming that from the way she was crying, though granted she could have just been set off by someone else crying). Besides, I don't know about anyone else but I would rather my grandparents died while they were still in use of most if not all of their facilities. Having to watch someone go senile or waste away from some disease or other is not something I would wish on anyone.
The site NEEDs another 'button' for entries like this where neither FYL nor YDI are appropriate!! If pressed to choose one, I'd click YDI for her being so self-centered. As the OP gets older, she'll realize that people become desensitized to funerals after going to so many over the yrs. The Aunt could write a FML; 'I quietly asked my niece where she got her lovely shoes at a funeral and the damm bitch copped an attitude on me and wouldn't tell me where she got the shoes.'
Aww I'm sorry about your grandfather. That sounds exactly like every family funeral I go to except that my aunt asks me when I'm going to join the Daughters of the Confederacy instead of my shoes. =P It's so horrible.
not an fml
What you can learn from this is: life goes on, no matter what...
Why the hell are you wearing sexy shoes to a funeral?
#28 what are you talking about? she said shoes not sexy shoes. and like there is that much of a difference
Keywords
Shit, at least she didn't say something like "He never really liked you, you know." Sorry about your grandpa.
So where'd you buy them?
