OP might not have had space if someone else was pulled up behind them already
than will the reverse man get rewarded for his own fault. OP and number 3 in line bumping each other.
if he was in reverse, how can he back into you? I am confused
Because they were in front of OP. And reversed into OP. Maybe try reading the FML again? "The car in front of me was in reverse"
I think what 30 is going for here is a play on words.
The term 'reverse' implies a backward motion.
My dad has a habit of always putting the car in neutral at a stop light for some reason and I've witnessed him accidentally going into reverse and nearly backing up into someone. To the people that are confused by this fml, please stay away from me on the road, thanks.
Just answering the 'for some reason' bit. In some countries, they train you to go into neutral when you stop at a red light. The reason they do this is because putting your car into neutral helps prevent the car from overheating and puts less strain on the engine. Although most people probably don't put their car into neutral, it's probable that whoever taight your dad to drive did it (or just that your dad knew about the overheating thing).
I called him out of curiosity and that was what he said plus he says it helps with brake life, learn something new everyday, thank you fml!
I was also thinking it was possible that he was used to driving manual so the habit of putting it in neutral when stopping stuck.
Its very easy to mistake reverse on a manual vehicle for one of the regular gears. I started driving at sixteen in a manual transmission and would get mixed up sometimes.
It's funny because this same situation happened to me. I was driving my 86 fiero GT manual and was at a red light. When the light turned green, my first geer wasn't fully engaged so I panicked when it went back into neutral and put into reverse and ALMOST hit the black Chrysler crossfire behind me. Scared the shit out of me.
Hm I don´t find that easy at all. The motion to go into reverse is usually very different. If I would make that mistake regularly I would either stay in first gear when stopping or stop driving altogether...
The thing is, if the person in question were a new driver to straight shift, it is not that hard to believe this mistake happened. I get your point, but for pete's sake... shit happens. F all parties involved L.
I can imagine the other way around, not pushing down enough and ending up in first gear instead of reverse but this way it seems strange to me. Probably (as someone said) rolled back to the line and then forgot about it or wanted to change later and panicked because of the honking.
This confirms my biggest red light fear.
Lovely
You were too close
wonderful. what was the repair cost appraised at?
That was no accident, he was committing insurance fraud. He's going to tell the police you rear ended him, and with no witness reports, they'll side with him.
If that were the case and it were me I would be paying that person a visit.
Maybe some force DRIVE hi to put his car in reverse...

Wonder how they managed to pull up to a light and end up in reverse.
the ever helpful "honk"... I usually do the opposite of what the honkers want, but not like THAT
