Back in my day. . . A person might date a few people simultaneously until they decided to get serious with one. At this point, you agree to date each other exclusively and breaking this rule is "cheating." I remember the "ceremony" where my wife-to-be and I decided to become exclusive. We had a huge, screaming fight at a park, just outside of a house where we were at a singles' party. Ah, those were the days! Coincidentally, about 12 years later, we bought a house about two blocks from that spot. We tell our daughter how that spot is a crucial part of her existence.

No, my daughter was conceived about a year and a half after that particular fight, but I wouldn't be surprised if she weren't conceived as a result of another fight. And, yes, screaming is often part of our foreplay. The funny part is that I wouldn't quite call it make-up sex because there is not apology phase between the conflict and the congress. Arguing with my wife makes her so hot, she just jumps me! She's not the first woman whom I have stoked to passion with a heated argument. If only I could start fights intentionally. . .
