There's only so much you can explain in an FML. I only came back because my only brother's wedding was Friday. My Mom and brother hate each other, and they argue all of the time. After one of their arguments, tension was high so I wanted to take a walk, but I accidentally tipped over one of my water glasses, causing everyone to explode and scream at me. Thus, I don't visit often.

My guess is that the OP doesn't always have $1000 laying aroynd to visit them.

you have never been near a dysfunctional family i can clearly see. yes it was very possibel that OP had done something to deserve the wrath of his family. it's just or even far more likely that his family is group of god damn hysterical monkies throwing poo at each other because social interaction above that is foreign to them. i'm sorry but family sucks. sure sure love your family and all that shit but fact is this is people you most likely have little to nothing in common with who you are forced to spend way too much time with. often you simply don't get along. the smart people are the ones who stay away from the mess unless they have a reason to show like OP. now the next step is to explain to your family why you do this... call me when you find out how still working on that one myself.

OP is actually from Iceland not the US as the FML states, they write the amount before currency there..
