This sounds strangely personal. I would suggest questioning your friends to see if anyone might have any information about your missing items.
The police are useless where I live, both of my neighbors where broken into too. The police came, said yeah this has been going on for a few weeks and left.

Believe me sometimes the police all is good for is eating donuts. I met a few. And have gone with a few to eat free donuts haha.
A friend of mine did this to her sister (the clothes thing). She stopped to visit, and while the sister was in the shower she took every item of clothing (socks, shoes, and underwear included), tossed them in a garbage bag, and put them in the snow pile across the road from the house. Perfect prank for someone seeking vengeance.
