not in that kind of sentemce a co-worler watched a kid steal my sound system is correct not a co-worker watched a kid stole my sound system ... think about it ;)

Yeah... it says "watched WHILE some kid stole". In case you can't see it, I capitalised the while for you to see that that's what makes stole be right in that sentence. Think about it ;) Edit: Dammit, you beat me to it, Alan :(
