Wow everyone is an expert. A combination of diet, cardio, and working out(free weights, dumbbells, machine, etc. ) would be optimal. 1 pound = 3500 kcals, therefore by subtracting 500 kcals a day you would lose a lb/ week by diet alone. And just because you take a picture that is seemingly "fit" does not mean you know what you are talking about. Many factors affect each person differently.
See a therapist or something, if you're not comfortable running outside you probably have some social anxiety going on.
