Well, look at this... The dumbass should have not done that , they could of just filed it on your insurance and be done. No, instead they busted up your car on purpose and will be charged with felon. Which include bail pay out, court dates, and having to pay full payments of the cost of having the damage fixed. People do not think anymore.
It's not ok to just leave a note on the windshield if you hit someone's car. You should wait a considerable amount of time at the scene and make an effort to locate the owner of the vehicle. Apparently it doesn't mean f**k all to you if you damage someone else's treasured ride, if you had the carelessness to leave and have some fun shopping at the mall. While it is terrible to wreck your car in return, you do still deserve it. If I was the victim of your recklessness, I would have called police and reported you for leaving the scene of the accident.
I literally created an account to give you an E-punch to the face. It is a perfectly accepted precedent to leave your information on someones windshield. I have had this happen to me twice (where my car was hit when i was away from it) and have never had a problem. One was so minor i texted the lady and said no harm, don't worry about it. I really hope you're 13 and don't actually drive because if you do; you need to get off the road until you learn some proper etiquette; you sir, are a dick.
#79, you can't call the police and report them for leaving the "scene." They left a damn note, obviously with plenty of information since the owner of the hit car was able to locate their car and vandalize it. When you hit a car, the law only requires that you make sure the owner of the car you hit gets your insurance information, and that the incident is reported; it does not require that you stay there and wait for the owner. However, it is best to try to actually talk with the owner of the car you hit, but for all you know, OP could have waited a very long time. You don't know how long someone is going to be shopping, it could be hours, or just minutes. Leaving a note is acceptable, ask anyone who works in law enforcement. You're an arrogant asshole. Leaving the scene would be driving off without so much as a note, which in this case would be a hit and run. I really hope you're not driving, you don't even understand the most basic of driving laws.
Hey #86 ... I've been a safe driver since I've gotten my license in Germany in 1993. OP didn't state she made a reasonable effort to locate the owner of the vehicle, or how long she waited. But: - mall usually means clothes, electronics or sporting goods... Leads me to believe there wasn't any essential necessities to be purchased. - there are usually PA systems at malls/stores where you can call for vehicle owners... Probably didn't use it to find owner of the damaged vehicle. So ... While it is not acceptable that the owner of the damaged car wrecked hers in return, she should not have left the scene like she did.
Hey #90 ... Of course you can. By law the person has to wait for a certain amount of time. Here in Germany it's 1.you call the police to report the damage you did to the other person's car. 2. Should 1. Not be possible you wait 30 minutes at the scene, then leave a note and make your way to nearest police station to file the accident report. If you don't follow this rule, you are leaving the scene of the accident illegally and a subject to fines and penalty points. I bet the rules are similar in the US or Britain or wherever this happened. If people find it acceptable to not involve police ... fine ... But in my world she should receive a hefty fine.
#94, malls in England aren't jut for luxuries. They also consist of mini supermarkets and butchers etc. also, if she was shopping for luxuries, it may not have been for herself. Like someone above said, a lot of information is missing here.
Just* I'm sure also, the lack of information is due to the amount of words you can put in an FML. It's quite limited to how much you can say in a post, which means that you only get part of the story.
Since you appear to lack basic reading skills: 1) It says OP was at a supermarket. I have no idea where you're getting the idea that he/she was at the mall having fun. 2) OP is from New York. It's ignorant to assume that the laws in one country are exactly the same as they are in another. I'm glad you're all the way in Germany, because I'd hate to get in an accident with an asshole like you. If someone accidently bumps your car, that doesn't make it okay for you to smash their windows and slash their tires. That's called road rage, which actually is illegal.
who actually knows what OP left on the note. She didn't elaborate therefor it leads me to believe that she might not have given all the info she should've. You can never judge a strangers reaction to a wrecked vehicle, you know considering what the damage may have been. I know I would be upset and so would all of you. It's a big inconvenience and she should have tried something face to face with the owner of the other vehicle.
To #108 the person posting this apparently did leave the right info if there car was able to be found and vandalized.
I understand leaving your number so they could contact you, but you must've left a description of your car/ the plate and went shopping. Most aren't going to react as kindly and you gave yourself enough rope to hang yourself. What you did was a bit naive to think that they may not retaliate after you left it. I hope you are able to sue for damages to your car.
That will teach you to be honest.
You did the right thing...they just overreacted...and you have a reason for a police report...if you want to take it that far.,,
That is absolutely appalling! Why bother trying to do the right thing when there are so many jerkwads in the world?
The person may not have had full coverage and wouldn't get nothing even If he/she/it tried. So took matters into their own hands just giving a different perspective don't mind me. Call the police, cameras, witnesses, your insurance, and that sucks feel sorry for you dealt with that shit in the past kids vandalizing my car for fun just ****** up what people do these days and for what??? I like your honesty at least you tried to do the right thing.

That is terrible! If I were you, I'd call the police. That's what you get for being ethical. );
I really hope you managed to keep a record of their number plate OP, that really really sucks and you do not deserve it at all :-(
