Today, my girlfriend saw the name "Melissa" on my phone's contact list. After refusing to tell her who it was, she accused me of being a cheater, broke up with me and stormed out of my house. Melissa is the name of a woman from Craigslist who was going to sell me an antique engagement ring. FML

I don't think it's strange that your girlfriend gets a little suspicious when you refuse to tell her who a girl in your phone is. Okay, breaking up and storming out is over the top, but YDI for not not telling her that she's just some woman from craigslist.

First question: why was she going through your phone? I've lived with my man for almost two years and we don't even put each other's clean clothes away. It's called personal space! Of course, that could be because we trust each other to HAVE personal space... Anyway, I think you may have dodged a bullet here. That said, I think even I would be upset if a woman called my man and he was all secretive about it. Not as upset as she was, but still. Should've stored the name as "Frank" or something; that would've solved the whole problem.

She's obviously got jealousy issues. Why was she even in his phone to begin with? Going through his phone/watching him do it is psycho. And some people will use the excuse, "well maybe she's been cheated on in the past." So have I. Doesn't matter. New relationship, new start, get over it. If you don't trust him, you're with the wrong person or not ready to date.
