Today, my girlfriend saw the name "Melissa" on my phone's contact list. After refusing to tell her who it was, she accused me of being a cheater, broke up with me and stormed out of my house. Melissa is the name of a woman from Craigslist who was going to sell me an antique engagement ring. FML

Today, my girlfriend and I were on the road. She saw that I got an innocent text from a friend, Melissa. In a fit of jealous rage, she put the gear of my car to “P” causing the car behind me to rear end me. My bumper fell off. She told me, “Tell that bitch Melissa to take care of that.” FML

Today, I was shopping with my girlfriend, when a girl came out of nowhere, screaming at me for cheating on her, and saying she was dumping me. I've never seen her before, and she was almost grinning during her little act, but my girlfriend believed it, and I'm now single. FML

Sometimes it's hard to fully explain the story in the space you get for the FML. By "refusing to tell her" I'm sure he didn't mean that he just said "I'm not telling you a darn thing so deal with it." He probably said "It's a surprise, so I can't tell you," or, "I can't tell you right now, but trust me you'll be happy I didn't," or something that. Give people some credit for basic communication skills. And I don't think it would have been better to lie- if the lie didn't hold up it looks worse than the truth. I do think you dodged a bullet, though. If she doesn't trust you, then there is something missing in that relationship and it's better for both of you.

U shouldve just told her from the get-go. By refusing makes it look like your hiding something. Other than that communication, trust and honesty is the key to a healthy relationship

A contact in a phone it's just a person you need to phone at some point, wheter if you know personally that person or not. It's not that difficult to understand. Still, I wouldn't save her contact with just "Melissa" (specially because I have really a bad memory with names and I would end up looking through all contacts to see if any of them would ring a bell)
